ShearHarvest 2 Conference 2010
Co-Hosted by
BackgroundShearHarvest is the meeting of the New Zealand and Australian Shearing Contractors Associations. This was initiated as a result of many discussions and the fact that both countries were working together on the Shearing Industry Health & Safety Committee. Both countries shear sheep and share many of the same issues. Why not get together, discuss these issues, the market place and many other common areas of interest. The first ShearHarvest Conference was held at Surfers Paradise 2008, hosted by the Shearing Contractors Association of Australia. It was attended by members of the New Zealand and Australian Shearing Contractors Association and many other industry stakeholders. It was an exciting first conference with much positive feedback and participants left eagerly awaiting the next one. In May 2010, the ShearHarvest 2 conference is being held in Christchurch, New Zealand, hosted by the New Zealand Shearing Contractors Association. We anticipate between 150 - 200 delegates from both New Zealand and Australia. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr David Carter, has been invited to open the conference and will be our key note opening speaker. At the conference dinner on Thursday night our guest speaker will be Richard Loe, a All Black legend, media personality and a hard man enforcer with a marshmallow inside. Conference Sponsorship and ExhibitionsThis Conference is greatly enhanced by a strong industry presence and offers companies the opportunity to promote their products and services to the Shearing community. It also provides an occasion to network with peers, speakers and industry players. Conference organizers will strongly promote sponsors throughout the duration of the conference. Sponsors will have the opportunity to display their products, and if requested, may be able to actively participate in the Conference.
